Our Mission & Vision 

The mission of the Pikeville Church of God is to love God,  love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. The vision of our church is to glorify our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, to make true disciples throughout all the nations by means of missionary activity and support, to minister to others, to edify believers, and to do all that is sovereignly possible and biblically permissible to magnify the name of Jesus.

Church Council

Our Church Council recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Bishop James Dunn, Pastor, and wife, Pam

As our pastor, Brother Dunn has a passion for carefully unpacking the truths of Scripture. He has served as a Church of God minister for 30+ years. He and his wife, Pam, have two sons, Josh and A.J. Bro. Dunn also serves as the Church of God District Pastor and has been instrumental is building a fellowship program with all pastors in the district. Bro. Dunn is passionate about his ministerial duties and works diligently to be a biblical example for his members and a leader in his community. Sis. Pam Dunn is also extremely talented in leading worship in song, greeting visitors, and making everyone feel welcome here at the Pikeville Church of God.

Tim & Jessica Churches, Youth Leaders

The talent portrayed by Tim & Jessica Churches is unending. In fact, both children Kaylan and Karter are instrumental in working in this ministry, as well. They are experienced singers, puppeteers, great with object lessons and real life teaching situations, experienced  in musical drama productions, and generally able to reach this hard-to-reach age without problem. They both work diligently to invite teens to our services and work to ensure they are receiving the best Christian youth training possible. They are passionate about this ministry and are not afraid of hard work. They are both wonderful people and loved by each and every teen. 

Bob & Loretta Ellis, Children’s Church

Bro. Bob Ellis’ main responsibility is teaching the youth and leading the children’s church program. Bob and wife, Loretta, work diligently to invite children to our services and work to ensure they are receiving the best Christian youth training possible. They are passionate about teaching the youth of the Sequatchie Valley. They are both wonderful people and loved by each and every child. Many other volunteers help with this ministry.

Bro. Dan & Sis. Sue Colvard, Worship & Music Leaders

The Bible has a lot to say about music, and Bro. Dan can lead the church’s worship of God in a way that matches the character of God. Bro. Dan is an accomplished musician, amazingly playing the piano for the glory of the Lord, but also capable of playing almost any instrument. Sis. Sue is also extremely talented and eager to share her gifts with the Church. Sis. Sue is also instrumental in leading worship through song, she serves as the lead singer at the Pikeville Church of God.

We are EXTREMELY BLESSED with very talented musicians and singers at PCOG! Music Team includes: Dan and Sue Colvard, Naomi & Brandon Blaylock,  Pam Dunn, Jordan Burgin, Robin Burgin, Mike McGuire, Jessica Churches, and Shirley Rains. Our musicians are extremely talented and work diligently to bring glory to our God through musical worship and honor.
