Ephesians 4:32        THE ACT OF FORGIVENESS

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

When WE forgive people it  helps US in three ways:

1) God forgives us.

Matthew 6:14-15-For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Plain talk)(how many people hold unforgiveness)

2) Forgiveness frees us.

Unforgiveness will imprison you in your past.

Unforgiveness never lets that wound heal, and you go through life reminding yourself of what was done to you, stirring up that pain and making yourself progressively angrier. You go through life accumulating bad feelings. But when you forgive you are free!

John 8:36-If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (You release the poison, cleanse the wound)

3) Forgiveness turns the other person(party) over to God.

It’s up to God to handle the situation not you. It’s not what we think others deserve, that’s God’s call not ours.

Romans 12:19-Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Let Him take care of it, He can handle things better than we can.

Mark 11:25-And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Know that learning to forgive is a lifelong process. Just like love, forgiveness is a decision we make each day.
